Dr. Eveline Bruinstroop is specialized in neuroendocrinology and her research focusses on the hypothalamic control of lipid metabolism. The research group’s experiments aim to unravel the neural circuits within the brain that control hepatic lipid metabolism. They would like to test the hypothesis that an unbalanced output of the autonomic nervous system plays a role in hepatic steatosis and further investigate the existence of neural pathways between the brain and the liver.
